ABOUT

US

Alpha Phi Alpha, the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African-Americans, was founded at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York by seven college men who recognized the need for a strong bond of Brotherhood among African descendants in this country. The visionary founders, known as the “Jewels” of the Fraternity, are Henry Arthur Callis, Charles Henry Chapman, Eugene Kinckle Jones, George Biddle Kelley, Nathaniel Allison Murray, Robert Harold Ogle, and Vertner Woodson Tandy.

Welcome to the Queen City of Charlotte!  The Brothers of the Beta Nu Lambda Chapter hope you are enjoying our grand city and look forward to the opportunity to fellowship and work  with you.  While there is a lot of work ahead of us as we continue to do the work of Alpha, we make sure we have a good time as well.  Our regular meetings are on the second Monday of each month at Trinity Episcopal School, 750 E 9th St, Charlotte, NC 28202.  We invite you to join us in working on a number of upcoming initiatives.
